Dutch Apple Pancake

Just like your favorite pancake house! You can make this faster than driving there and waiting for a table. This beauty can be made in minutes! This will become a family favorite, especially around the holidays!

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet or oven-proof pan
  • Whisk
  • Metal spatula

Ingredients

  • 2 large Granny Smith apples (peeled and sliced into 1'x1' pieces)
  • 4 T butter (not margarine)
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 c flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 T butter (melted)
  • 1/2 c sugar (mixed with 2t of cinnamon)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 500 degrees or as hot as your baby will go.
  • Sauté apples in 4T of butter on low until soft.
  • Whisk together milk, flour, and eggs, and pour over the apples.
  • Place in the oven for about 15 minutes until the pancake puffs up to the edge of the pan and starts to brown up on the edges.
  • Remove and top with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  • Pour remaining melted butter over the pancake.
  • Put back in the oven for 5 more minutes until bubbly on top and the sugar is melted.
  • Remove from the oven and serve hot!
  • You may need a butter knife to slide around the edge of the pan to loosen the pancake so it serves nicely.
